Prisoner of conscience calls on to monitor his case
Coordinator of the Public Alliance "Azerbaijan has no political prisoners" Oktay Gulalyev visited in jail № 3 Taleh Hasmamedov, a prisoner of conscience.
According to human rights defenders, Khasmamedov did not complain about the conditions of detention and treatment in jail. He is concerned mainly by his illegal arrest and detention for about a year. Khasmamedov expressed a that discussions of the issue of political prisoners in the PACE will help to free him.
Khasmamedov conveyed Gulalyevu an appeal to the members of PACE and asked the media to monitor his trial, which will begin on October 9 in Shirvan Court of Appeal.
* Tale Khasmamedov was arrested in November 2011 by Ujar police. He is accused under Articles 315.1 (resistance to authority) and 221.3 (hooliganism). On April 20 Kurdamir court sentenced him to four years in prison. Organization "Amnesty International" recognized him as a prisoner of conscience. He was included in the list of Christopher Strasser on political prisoners. -05D04-

On the evening of February 5, it was reported that journalist Shahnaz Beylargizi had been arrested. She had been a presenter on the Toplum TV channel for several years. After a criminal case was initiated against the channel in March 2024 and nearly all of its staff were arrested, Beylargizi was questioned multiple times.
