Public Alliance "Azerbaijan without political prisoners" condemns the detention Leyla Yunus
Public Alliance "Azerbaijan without political prisoners" strongly condemns the detention of Director of the Institute for Peace and Democracy (IPD) Leyla Yunus. The statement of the alliance reads that the persecution of human rights activist is politically motivated, and is connected with her struggle for the release of political prisoners.
The alliance demands the immediate release of Leyla Yunus, and restoration of her violated rights.
Such an attitude toward Yunus , a "Knight of the Order of the Legion of Honor" and Prize Theodore Hacker Germany is an eloquent evidence of human rights situation in Azerbaijan, reads the statements of the alliance.
