Ramiz Mehdiyev and Nikolay Patrushev Discuss Cooperation in International Information Security
Baku / 30.09.17 / Turan: Yesterday in Baku, the head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Ramiz Mehdiyev met with the secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolay Patrushev. The sides held consultations on security issues, TASS reported.
"The issues of regional security, the improvement of the legislative framework for combating religious extremism and terrorism, as well as the issues of bilateral cooperation in the sphere of international information security were considered," the report said. Summing up the consultations, Patrushev stressed that the relations between Russia and Azerbaijan are distinguished by the advanced nature of the strategic partnership both on the bilateral and multilateral agenda.
Commenting on the consultations, Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council Rashid Nurgaliyev said: "The current situation in the field of international information security is becoming more and more alarming, and some countries are trying to impose their own rules of the game in the information space that are profitable only for them." "In this regard, it is necessary to focus the efforts of the international community on the prevention of conflicts in the use of information and communication technologies, its demilitarization and the consolidation of principles of respect for state sovereignty, non-interference in the internal affairs of other states, and observance of fundamental human rights and freedoms," he said. -06D-
