Russia to supply “Sputnik V” and “Astrazeneca” vaccines to Azerbaijan - Ilham Aliyev
Baku/26.02.21/Turan: Azerbaijan is the first state in the South Caucasus to start the vaccination process, President Ilham Aliyev said at a press conference on February 26.
“We started vaccinations just a month after Europe,” he said, noting that the vaccines are carried out with the Chinese-made CoronaVac vaccine. “We have also joined the COVAX system, within the framework of which we are to receive other vaccines - AstraZeneka, Moderna, and Pfizer,” Aliyev said.
“From the very first days, we signed the relevant documents with the Russian side on the supply of the “AstraZeneca” vaccine to Azerbaijan, since Russian companies are distributors of this vaccine in the post-Soviet space, as well as the “Sputnik V” vaccine,” Aliyev said.
According to him, vaccines of this type have not yet been received. “According to our information, “Sputnik V” is still providing for the domestic needs of Russia, and very limited quantities of these doses have been supplied to foreign countries,” the president said. —06D-
