Sergei Sobyanin: Moscow to buy vegetables, fruits and meat from Azerbaijan
On Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister Yaqub Eyyubov received the delegation headed by the mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin. During the meeting Ayyubov noted that the visit of the Russian delegation will make a great contribution to the development of cooperation and the strengthening of friendly relations between the two countries.
According to him, Azerbaijan's President gave specific instructions in this regard, and in the course of negotiations these issues will be discussed.
Noting that Russia is one of the main partners of Azerbaijan, Eyyubov said that close ties with a number of subjects of Russia, and Moscow ranks first in this series.
In turn, Sobyanin noted the enturies-old ties between Azerbaijan and Russia. This year, the trade turnover between the two countries increased by 30%. He stressed that the signed documents will help to accelerate the supply of agricultural products from Azerbaijan to Moscow. There is considerable scope for cooperation in this area.
The mayor also said that Moscow intends to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of tourism, culture, urban redevelopment, and others.
Sobyanin said that negotiations are under way with respect to deliveries from Azerbaijan to Russia, along with fruits and vegetables, and meat products. He expressed confidence that the signed documents will serve as an impetus for the development of bilateral relations.
During the meeting, Yaqub Eyyubov and Sergei Sobyanin signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Moscow.
Businessmen of the two countries signed an agreement on the export of products from Azerbaijan. -02D-
