Contained in jail of MNS, the journalist Rauf Mirkadyrov through his lawyer issued a statement in connection with the failure to provide him the opportunity to take part in the ceremony of "40-day mourning" of his father.
"I am sympathetic to the failure in allowing me to take part in the ceremony of "40 days"of my father's death, but regard as a violation of the law not providing any official response to the requests from my lawyers. At the same time, I express my gratitude to all those who have supported me in this situation," said Mirkadyrov.
The journalist's lawyer Elmar Suleymanov in the talk with Turan regretted that the journalist was not released for the mourning ceremony.
According to him, in terms of legislation, in this case there is no violation of legal provisions. At the same time, the law does not preclude Mirkadyrov to provide such an opportunity.
However, the defense relied on the fact that given the fact that his father died after the journalist's apartment was searched, Mirkadyrov could be given the opportunity to take part in the ceremony.
At the same time, the lawyer pointed out that the investigation did not refer to the law, and just argued that it did not receive the lawyers' appeal.
In this the lawyer provided postal receipts that the appeals to the Prosecutor General from the defenders were delivered to the recipients last week.
* The columnist of Zerkalo Mirkadyrov was arrested in Baku April 19 immediately after the deportation from Turkey. He was accused of spying for Armenia, and on April 21 the court arrested him for three months. The journalist denied the accusation, calling it absurd and refused to testify. But then he decided to testify the investigation to provide clarity on some issues. -06B -
