Tehran considers fighter jet flight over border with Azerbaijan normal
Baku/13.03.23/Turan: An Iranian military plane did not cross the border with Azerbaijan and therefore considers it wrong to summon the Iranian Ambassador to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry for explanations.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani said this at a briefing on Monday.
"The flight was normal. Such flights are carried out periodically as part of surveillance of Iran's border areas and on Iranian territory. Such flights have been carried out before," Kanani was quoted as saying by "Fars News Agency".
"We have defense relations with Azerbaijan, our Embassy is active, our military attaché works there. You could have addressed the issue to the Iranian Embassy and our military attaché. An exchange of views could have taken place, and the misunderstanding could have been resolved. We cannot consider the Azerbaijani government's summoning of the Ambassador as a well-intentioned action," Kanani said.
It is to remind that on March 11, in the morning for 40 minutes, an Iranian military plane flew along the Azerbaijani state border and in some places violated the border.
Baku considered the flight as a provocation, demanding an explanation from Tehran. -02D-

Official Baku has condemned the visit of Polish President Andrzej Duda to the Azerbaijan-Armenia border during his official visit to Armenia. "The visit of Polish President Andrzej Duda to the to Armenia-Azerbaijan border area in the company of members of the EU Mission in Armenia (EUMA), unfortunately, is another demonstration of anti-Azerbaijani policy of different EU member countries and European institutions. We deeply regret that President of the country which is officially a “strategic partner” of Azerbaijan has participated in the unacceptable diplomatic “binocular show” leading to the aggravation of relations between Azerbaijan and Poland,”" reads the statement on the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ account on X (formerly Twitter).
