Baku/24.07.23/Turan: Today, the Narimanov District Court of Baku chose a preventive measure in the form of arrest for a period of 3 months and 26 days against the opposition politician, head of the Azerbaijani Democracy and Welfare Party Gubad Ibadoglu, lawyer Zibeyda Sadygova told reporters.
According to her, Ibadoglu pleads not guilty. The defense will file an appeal against the court's decision on the arrest. --0--

Baku/07/24.23/Turan: The investigation aggravated the accusation of opposition politician Gubad Ibadoglu with Article 204.1 (manufacture for sale, as well as the acquisition or sale of counterfeit money or foreign currency) to 204.3.1 (the same actions committed by an organized group) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
Investigative body submitted to the Narimanov district Cour on the election of a preventive measure in the form of arrest against Ibadoglu, lawyer Zibeyda Sadygova said. In the coming hours, the court will consider the submission.
Under the Article 204.1 Ibadoglu was threatened with punishment from 5 to 7 years in prison, and now under the Article 204.3.1 – from 8 to 12 years in prison.
Ibadoglu was detained on July 23 in the afternoon. Last night, he was involved under Article 204.1 (manufacture for sale, as well as the acquisition or sale of counterfeit money or foreign currency) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
Last month, Ibadoglu, together with the head of the National Council, Professor Jamil Hasanli and disgraced diplomat Arif Mammadov, who is in political exile in Europe, announced the establishment of the Azerbaijani Youth Education Fund, registered in London.
Ibadoglu took the initiative to confiscate the property of Azerbaijani officials abroad and transfer these funds to this fund. ---06B---
