The Court of Appeal rejected another complaint of Gubad Ibadoglu
Baku/21.08.23/Turan: On August 21, the Baku Court of Appeal rejected the complaint of the arrested oppositionist and economist Gubad Ibadoglu. He challenged the decision of the Narimanov court, which recognized the search in the office of Gubad Ibadoglu, where he had not been for the last 2 years.
Gubad Ibadoglu himself participated in the trial, and once again stated that the search and his arrest were illegal.
His brother Ghalib, told Turan that Gubad has lost a lot of weight, he is tormented by blood pressure and high blood sugar.
*On July 24, the Narimanov District Court of Baku arrested Gubad Ibadoglu for 3 months and 26 days on charges of making counterfeit money.
The Azerbaijani Interior Ministry said that Ibadoglu is associated with supporters of Fethullah Gulen, accused of an attempted coup in Turkey in 2016.
Gubad Ibadoglu does not accept the accusations, considering them absurd. ---16D--

On November 19, the Sabail District Court of Baku granted the prosecution's request to extend the pretrial detention of Talysh researcher Iqbal Abilov for another four months, his lawyer, Rovshan Rahimov reported. According to the lawyer, the defense considers Abilov’s detention to be unjustified and disputes the charges brought against him. Abilov himself also rejected the accusations. The defense plans to file an appeal against the court's decision.
