The Embassies of Germany and France announced a winner of gender equality competition.
Baku/01.06.21/Turan: On May 31, the Embassies of Germany and France announced a winner of "Gender Equality in Azerbaijan" award competition.
A ceremony held at the Landmark Business Center was attended by French Ambassador Zachary Gross and German Deputy Ambassador Andrea Maria Sulch.
The winner of the competition was announced a head of the NGO Gunel Aghabeyli for a project to support women in the innovation sector.
The French Ambassador stressed the importance of fighting for gender equality and against domestic violence.
The German Deputy Minister noted the importance of creating equal conditions for women in society. They should have equal rights at the labor market and in the family, and in general, the role of women in society should be strengthened.
In July, she is expected to take part in the Science-Po Paris training on human rights, as well as an internship in a German company (depending on the situation with the pandemic, the time and place may change).
Five projects were selected for participation in the competition, from which the jury selected the winner.
The other four contestants,also leaders of women's non-governmental organizations,received copies of the statue of "Liberated Woman" by Fuad Abdurrakhmanov. -16D-
