Baku / 30.10.20 / Turan: Peacekeepers can be brought into Karabakh only with the consent of both parties to the conflict, said the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, answering questions from journalists.
"Any peacekeepers can be brought into the conflict zone only with the consent of both sides," he said.
At the same time, Peskov refrained from answering the question whether the head of state Vladimir Putin, in the course of his contacts with the leaderships of Armenia and Azerbaijan, proposed to introduce Russian peacekeepers into the conflict zone in the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh.
When asked whether Russia would send its peacekeepers if both countries agreed, Peskov made it clear that there was no need to rush things.
Previously the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reiterated the need to bring Russian peacekeepers to Karabakh. His statement sounded like he was the president of Russia. -02D-
