Delegation of ambassadors from the 10 countries of the "Group of speakers for democracy" of the Committee of Ministers is in Azerbaijan.
On Wednesday, they met a group of opposition politicians. The meeting was attended by Eldar Namazov, the head of the EL Movement; Isa Gambar, the leader of the "Musavat", Ali Kerimli , the chairman of the Popular Front Party, and Avaz Temirkhan, Acting Chairman of the Liberal Party.
According to Eldar Namazov, they discussed socio-political situation on the eve of presidential elections, the implementation of Azerbaijan's commitments to the Council of Europe, the situation with human rights.
According to Namazov, the members of the group, which is the successor of the previously applied monitoring group "Ago", are well aware of the situation.
The "Group of the speakers for democracy," is led by Ursula Gachek, the head of Mission of Poland under the Council of Europe.
The mission, which ends on April 11, is to study the socio-political situation on the eve of the presidential elections 16 October 2013. -16D-

President Ilham Aliyev approved the Azerbaijani-Russian intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in transit cargo transportation along the "North-South" international transport corridor (ITC) on February 11, 2025. The agreement was signed on December 21, 2024, by the heads of the transport ministries of both countries.
