The number of candidates for deputies has approached one and a half thousand
On September 1, 1,489 people applied to the district election commissions to nominate candidates for deputies in the early elections to the Milli Majlis. Of these, 481 candidates have already been registered, the head of this structure, Mazahir Panahov, said at today's meeting of the CEC. According to him, 958 of the nominated candidates are non-party, 531 have a party affiliation.
802 candidates have already submitted subscription lists with 450 signatures of voters required for registration. Panahov also announced the accreditation of 94 international observers from 23 countries and 5 international organizations to the elections. 8,825 local observers are also registered.
54 media subjects applied to the CEC to conduct election campaigning for candidates on a paid basis. The CEC terminated the powers of two members of the district election commissions due to the fact that their close relatives ran in these districts.
