Turkey has decided to issue passports to the descendants of Armenians who left in 1915
The Turkish government has decided to give the descendants of Armenians "who left the country during the events of 1915," Turkish passports, according to Hurriyet.
Currently, the Cabinet of Ministers and the Foreign Minister of Turkey are working on this issue. The proposal was made at a Cabinet meeting, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said.
Turkey will never allow political statements under any pressure, Davutoglu said, commenting on the statement of Prime Minister Erdogan on April 23.
This statement is part of the process of normalization of Armenian -Turkish relations.
"The declaration is a call. We have chosen an approach that shares the grief of the Armenians and hope that all the parties will act similarly. This will put an end to the conflict that exists around historical events. We hope that our appeal will resonate," said Davutoglu. -02D-
