Two customs generals dismissed as part of criminal investigation
Baku / 03.05.18 / Turan: Two generals of the customs service were released from their posts on the basis of operational activities conducted by the State Security Service (SSS) within the framework of the investigation of the criminal case. According to sources in the SSS, Major-General Sadig Abduyev, Chief of the Main Customs Directorate for Air Transport of the State Customs Committee (SCC) and Major-General Fikrat Gadimaliev, head of the Customs Service's medical service, have been dismissed from their posts. Both departments conduct investigations in the framework of operational and investigative measures in the criminal case against the "drug mafia."- 0-

Economist Fazil Gasimov, who has been on hunger strike for 98 days, today requested the Baku Serious Crimes Court to dismiss the criminal charges against him. He stated that he is not involved with counterfeit money and that the case against him is politically motivated. His lawyer, Rovshan Rahimov, also petitioned for a change in his detention conditions, noting that Gasimov's health is severely deteriorating due to the prolonged hunger strike.
