Pompeo: The United States values freedom of the press
Baku / 03.05.18 / Turan: " On the 25th anniversary of World Press Freedom Day, we renew our commitment to promoting and protecting a free press, which is an essential pillar of democracy. This is stated in the statement of the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, circulated on May 3.
The Secretary notes that " the United States values freedom of the press as a key component of democratic governance. By fostering a free press, citizens are more informed, active and engaged in political decision-making, and can better hold their governments accountable."
