Unexpected visit of Rosneft head to Baku
On October 20, President Ilham Aliyev received the President of Russia's largest state-owned oil company Rosneft, Igor Sechin.
As the press service of the President of Azerbaijan said, the sides discussed the implementation of joint projects between Rosneft and SOCAR.
The parties also discussed the implementation of joint projects between the two companies outside of Azerbaijan and Russia. The essence of the projects has not been reported. However, unofficial evidence suggests that it is the participation of Rosneft in SOCAR projects in Turkey and other countries.
Such cooperation creates some problems for Azerbaijan, taking into account the fact that the EU and the United States have imposed sanctions on Rosneft. -02D-
