President Barack Obama has sent a letter to Ilham Aliyev in connection with May 28 Republic Day.
The letter congratulates Azerbaijan on the 98th anniversary of the establishment of “the world's first secular democratic Muslim state.”
Obama noted that the United States continues to work with Azerbaijan in the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.
"We wish to further strengthen the cultural, political and economic relations," the congratulatory message posted on the website of the Azerbaijani President says. -16D-
