Warning of officials by Ilham Aliyev
President Ilham Aliyev spoke in Ismailly at the opening ceremony for a new system for drinking water supply on August 14, and urged officials to behave as befits a public servant. According to him, in some cases, officials do not. "They themselves, and their relatives, insult people and irritate them, make inappropriate actions, and do not behave modestly. In that case, of course, serious measures are taken and will be taken," said Aliyev.
In his view, officials must faithfully serve the motherland and the people.
"Every officer should be aware that this position is to serve the people. I am doing this post only to serve the people. Each officer must be aware of his image and work for the good of the motherland and the people," said Aliyev.
This warning from the President has a certain connotation.
It was in Ismailly that riots occurred in January of this year after the manager of the Chirag hotel made a traffic accident and insulted the locals. According to unofficial reports, the incident was committed by the son of the Minister of Labor, Fizuli Alekperov. In social networks, a proof emerged of the hotel belonging to the Minister's son. This hotel was burned by the angry crowd.
A month after these events, at a meeting, Aliyev also made public a warning to officials and their offspring to avoid actions that cause resentment among citizens.
Following this meeting, Aliyev dismissed the head of administration of Ismailly, Nizami Alekperov, who is a brother of the Minister of Labor. -16D06-
