Washington and Paris refused to communicate with Moscow on the Karabakh settlement - Lavrov
Baku/08.04.22/Turan: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that he did not know what will be the future fate of the "troika" of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs on the Karabakh settlement. The reason is the position of the US and France, Lavrov said at a briefing with Armenian Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in Moscow on April 8.
"Our French and American partners in this group, in a Russophobic frenzy, in an effort to cancel everything and everything related to the Russian Federation, said that they would not communicate with us in this format," the minister said.
Lavrov accused the US and France of Russophobia. "We are committed to the settlement of the Karabakh situation and the implementation of all the agreements reached in a trilateral format between the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation," he said.
Lavrov also noted that the agreements between Pashinyan and Aliyev in Brussels "on the delimitation and unblocking of trade ties, as well as the normalization of relations between Yerevan and Baku, correspond to the agreements reached at the meeting between Putin and his colleagues from Armenia and Azerbaijan."
"We confirmed today: the decision of the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan that the delimitation commission will be bilateral with the consultative participation of the Russian side remains in force," Lavrov said and expressed hope that the United States and France would not interfere with the implementation of these agreements. -02D-

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan rejected Ilham Aliyev's demands for Yerevan to stop acquiring weapons. "Armenia has acquired and will continue to acquire weapons solely for the purpose of self-defense. Over 200 square kilometers of our sovereign territory is under the control of Azerbaijan. And even to regain these territories, we do not intend to consider military action, but rather a process of demarcation. So, we are buying weapons and have no intention of sending them back," he stated.
