Xazar TV Changes Owner and Manager
Baku / 05.03.20 / Turan: Shares of Xazar TV came under the control of Socar Media. As a result of the change of ownership, a new CEO, showman Murad Dadashev, was also appointed to the television company.
The information has been confirmed by Socar Media.
Earlier, Xazar TV was controlled by disgraced presidential aide Ali Hasanov, and his son Shamkhal Hasanov was the general director of the channel.
According to observers, the change in the owner and head of the channel will entail serious changes in the editorial policy.
The work of Xazar TV is likely to be rebuilt according to the type of Public Television. In particular, dosed criticism of government agencies will be allowed, public figures who were previously taboo will appear on the air, and the broadcasting will technically improve. The content of the show programs will also probably change for the better.
At the same time, the transfer of the channel already officially under the control of the state structure gives reason to believe that the absence of political pluralism will remain on Xazar TV, as well as on other broadcasting structures.
Note that the state-owned oil company Socar also controls the CBC satellite channel. –06D--
