With the approach of the presidential elections in Azerbaijan, the authorities have tightened their relation to the protest electorate.
For example, at today's meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Policy and State changes were approved to Article 310 of the Code of Administrative Offences, AR ("Willful disobedience to lawful request of a police officer or a soldier").
According to the project (Article 310.1), the upper limit of punishment for resisting a police officer or a soldier in the protection of public order will be raised from 15 to 30 days of arrest.
The same two-fold increase in the penalties expects citizens, who do not obey the orders of border guards (Art. 310.2). The innovation is encouraged to submit for consideration by Milli Majlis. - 17D-
