A journalist who covered the terrible condition of roads arrested in Jalilabad
On November 22, police arrested the editor of the site "azel.tv" Afgan Sadikhov, who operates in Jalilabad region of Azerbaijan. According to the journalist’s mother Gyulnisa Sadikhov, Afghan was detained in Gazakh region, in the west of the country, and from there he was taken to the city of Jalilabad. The District Court decided to arrest him for three months under the Article 127 (deliberate infliction of small damage to health.)
Mother claims that the real reason for the arrest is the professional activities of Afghan, who on his website regularly wrote about the violations of the rights of citizens and the arbitrariness of officials. "He was warned several times and demanded an end to the criticism, but he was not afraid," said the mother.
Some time ago, he was called to the executive power of Jalilabad, and there some woman attacked him with fists. The incident was immediately recorded. Attempts by mothers to get a meeting with her son were futile. "He was kept in the police and tortured, a meeting with him is not allowed," she said.
Recently, Afghan wrote a lot about the terrible state of roads in the city of Jalilabad, and infrastructure in social networks, they have a huge impact, causing irritation of the local authorities. Turan failed to get comment in the executive branch and the police. -05D-
