Abid Gafarov was not cured, returned from the hospital to the colony – human rights activist

Baku/24.12.22/Turan: Public activist Abid Gafarov, who suffered a clinical death in a medical institution of the Penitentiary Service on December 22, was returned to colony number 14.

This was announced by the executive director of the human rights organization "Line of Protection" Rufat Safarov.

"Having received information from Abid Gafarov's family about his clinical death, we provided it to the public, the media believing that the Penitentiary Service would treat his treatment more responsibly.  However, today it became known that officials of the Penitentiary Service were annoyed by this and made an inhumane decision against Gafarov. A person who had suffered clinical death two days ago was transferred to the colony. He is currently in a helpless state," Safarov wrote on Facebook.

The wife of activist Elnar Gafarov saw him on December 24 in the colony through a glass partition.

"Abid had no sensitivity on the right side of his face. There is a noise in his ears, the dizziness has increased. Abid strongly demands that he be returned to a medical institution, properly examined, provided with treatment. He was in the prison hospital for almost a month and was never diagnosed. He was told that "everything is fine with you" and returned to the colony, although two days ago he suffered a clinical death. We don't know what to do," Safarov quoted Gafarov's wife as saying.

Earlier, a representative of the Penitentiary Service told Turan that Gafarov did not have a clinical death, "his blood pressure dropped" and "there are no health problems now," "treatment continues."

* The head of the public organization "Baku Unity" and the host of the YouTube channel KIM.TV On July 13, Abid Gafarov was sentenced to a year in prison on the complaint of a group of veterans of the Karabakh war.

The court found him guilty under articles 147 (slander) and 148 (insult) of the Criminal Code.

The plaintiffs, war veterans, considered Gafarov's call not to be "submissive" and resist arbitrariness an insult.

Human rights activists believe that Gafarov's arrest is "a continuation of the campaign of persecution of critics of the "Terter case", and in particular, the torture of arrests of innocent servicemen.

Oddly enough, the accusers Gafarova was accused of slander, they were not outraged when the Terter case was reviewed and the military accused of betrayal were released, as Abid Gafarov and other human rights activists demanded.-03B06-
