Abutalibov: We did not bring as many flowers as Heydar Aliyev deserve
Mayor of Baku, Hajibala Abutalibov, told reporters the secrets of delivering tons of flowers for today's holiday. "Special cargo plane delivered flowers from Brazil. Great number of flowers were brought from Italy, Holland, France, Turkey, China," said Abutalibov. He did not mention what was the volume of supply of flowers and their cost. However, according to official data, 150 tons of flowers were delivered.
Last year it 116 tons of flowers were delivered from many countries.
At the same time, Abutalibov said that this year the flowers were delivered by two times more than last year. The authorities did not disclose the amount spent on the holiday of flowers and from what sources funds were paid.
In 2007, the Mayor Office called the figure of 15 million dollars. In 2009, the then deputy Guler Akhmadova, at the session of parliament, called the figure 14-15 million dollars.
In recent years, the mayor refuses to name the sum spent on flowers.
"Heydar Aliyev is priceless, so I do not think about finances. We did not bring as many flowers as he deserves," said the mayor. -–16D-
