Baku / 04.29.19 / Turan: A group of internally displaced persons today held a protest in front of the building of the Executive Authority of the Nizami district. They put forward social demands.
According to the IDPs, the hostel in which they live is in disrepair. On each floor of the building, 24 families live, sharing toilet and bathroom, which are in unsanitary conditions. There are no steps on the stairs. Sewage is drained from above to the first floor.
As the protesters told, neither the representatives of the district administration, nor the State Committee for Refugees are interested in the problems of IDPs.
The protesters said they are turning to First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva with a request to personally take up their problem and provide them with new apartments in homes for refugees.
Later, representatives of the protesters were received by the head of the district, who promised that a special commission would deal with their problem. -21C-
