Baku /10.04.19/Turan: On October 4, the State Border Service detained two Algerian citizens while illegally crossing the state border.
State Border Service reports that Buremad Ishak and Bulekrun Farou were detained while trying to cross the Azerbaijani-Georgian border near the village of Laleli, Gakh region.
Algerians arrived in Azerbaijan on September 25 with a flight from Istanbul. During the investigation, Algerians said they wanted to go to Georgia and from there to European countries. -02D-

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
