Baku /10.04.19 / Turan: A group of graduates of the Medical University studying in the residency of this university held a protest rally in front of the Ministry of Health today. According to the participants, they want to study at the residency for free.
"This school year, residency training has become paid. The price is 4000 manat, although earlier training was free. However, now we are told that the government cannot afford to pay for our education, and from next year, the number of seats in the residency will be reduced. However, this year the number of places has increased and many places have remained vacant.
We paid for one year, and we want to have free education next year," said one of the protesters.
The protesters added that they sent a letter to the Ministry of Health, from there it was sent to the Ministry of Finance, and then to the Cabinet of Ministers.
"We also addressed President Ilham Aliyev and Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva. It is hard for us to pay tuition. Our salary in the hospital is 350 manat. This is very small," said another participant.
Three participants of the action were received by representatives of the Ministry of Health and they were promised that their request would be brought to the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance, and they would be informed of the answer. The police did not interfere with the rally.
