Ali Insanov: I honestly earned my half a million dollars

The intention of the Azerbaijani authorities to arrest  the  bank account   of the former Health Minister, Ali Insanov,   is unfounded, said the lawyer said the ex-minister Togrul Babaev after visiting his client on Wednesday.  "The Ali Insanov has no debts. All his property was confiscated, which is  by three timesg higher  that the amount that the court wants to confiscate," said the lawyer. According to him, Ali Insanov asked to convey the following:  "I'm a scientist, and invented a drug, which is called" Insanovin. "I get the income from the sale of this drug abroad. I have paid the amount of $100.000 taxes.  I submitted to the investigation and the European Court a document confirming payment of taxes," said Insanov.

A few days ago  some media published information about the  accounts of the ustomers of the bank in Luxembourg, among them was  the account of Ali Insanov. Azerbaijani authorities immediately decided that thefunds are illegal means, and announced their intention to confiscate the funds.

Some human rights bodies recognized Ali Insanov as a political prisoner, and the European Court of Human Rights ruled the violation of his rights. -03B04-
