At the time of the fire in the building there were more than 200 people - medical staff and patients. "There were 55 people in the burnt corps. Most of them were evacuated. The victims have been provided with the necessary medical and psychological assistance. Despite the necessary measures entirely taken, 25 people were killed," it was reported. However, the names of the dead are still not named. The relatives and friends of the victims who are at the site of the fire cannot receive information about their relatives.

Twenty-four People Killed in Fire (Updated)

As a result of the fire, 24 people were killed in the Republican Drug Addiction Combat Center. This was jointly stated by the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Health.

According to the same source, the fire occurred in the Center"s one-story building on March 2 at 06:10.

The men and equipment of the Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and ambulances of the Ministry of Health urgently arrived at the scene. Protection of the territory and ensuring the unhindered operation of the rescuers were provided by the staff of the Rapid Reaction Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Khatayi District Police Department.

As a result of the activities, of the 55 people in the building, 34 were rescued. Of these, three were placed in the Republican Toxicology Center.

By 09.13 the fire was extinguished. During the investigation of the scene, 24 bodies were found.

At the instruction of the President of Azerbaijan, the Prosecutor General's Office started a criminal case. An operative-investigative group was created by the staff of the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

According to preliminary information, the cause of the fire was a malfunction in the electrical network of the building.
