Another activist of Facebook is arrested
Activist of social network Facebook, Abdul Abilov, is arrested in Azerbaijan on charges of drug possession. On November 25 Nariman District Court sanctioned his arrest for three months, Turan was told by Abilov’s family members.
Abdul Abilov is the author of a Facebook page called "Stop the sycophants!" Immediately after the arrest of activist the officers of the Department to combat organized crime of the Interior Ministry closed the page.
The press service of the Interior Ministry said that the arrested is a drug addict, and he was arrested on the basis of operative information. A heroin was found at his home, and he himself confessed drug use, said employee of the press office, Orhan Masurzade.
The Interior Ministry considers it is wrong to present the arrested as an activist of social network, calling it an attempt of relatives to politicize relatives. -03B-
