Attempt to violate border by drug courier was stopped
Baku /17.08.22/Turan: An attempt to violate the border was stopped last night from Iran, the State Border Service of Azerbaijan reported.
On the night of August 17, border guards recorded a border violator near the village of Minjivan in the Zangilan region. The violator ignored the order to stop, abandoned the cargo and fled back to the Iranian side.
During the inspection of the territory, a bundle with 5 kg 600 gr. of marijuana was found.

During search and operational activities, on January 30 at 11:20, 16.4 kg of drugs were discovered and seized in the area of the "Geytapa" border post, located on the Iran-Azerbaijan border. According to the Azerbaijan Border Service, this prevented an attempt to smuggle into Azerbaijan 11.3 kg of marijuana, 5.1 kg of opium, and 1,990 methadone M-40 pills from Iran.
