Authorities Found "Scapegoat" for Demolition of Monument to Poet Mikayil Mushvig
Several workers of Azeravtoyol JSC have been punished for the demolition of the monument to the outstanding Azerbaijani poet Mikail Mushvig.
As explained by the head of the press service of Azeravtoyol JSC Anar Najafli, “the foreman of Road Maintenance Special Purpose №8 LLC demolished the bust, without informing the authorities.”
For this reason, the foreman Ramiz Rahimov was dismissed from his post and fired. The Director of the LLC Aliheybat Shirinov was warned, and the Chief Engineer Juris Huseynov received a severe reprimand.
JSC Azeravtoyol apologizes for the belated information to the public and the media about the dismantling of the monument to Mushvig.
Note that the dismantling of the bust of Mushvig and destruction of the pedestal caused outrage in social networks on the Internet. At the same time, all state agencies responsible for the protection of cultural monuments were silent before this was condemned by the sister-in-law of the President of Azerbaijan Nargiz Pashayeva, and then Ilham Aliyev himself.
After this, Azeravtoyol was condemned by the Ministries of Culture and Environment (for the "cutting" of rare species of trees in the landscaping).
It should be noted that the reconstruction of the area and the park is provided by the President’s plan on improvement of the former Soviet Street. However, as always, the city authorities led by the Mayor showed disrespect and did not consider it necessary to do their job in a fair way. But once again they were able to get away with this. -06D-
