Azerbaijani captured by Russian military in Mariupol released
Baku/13.04.22/Turan: Azerbaijani student Huseyn Abdullayev, captured on March 17 by the Russian military in Ukrainian Mariupol, was released from captivity. He himself told Turan about this.
According to Abdullayev, he was detained by the Russian military of Chechen origin. “We were eight people. The Chechens stopped our car and took me prisoner along with others,” Abdullayev said.
The student also noted that during the 26-day captivity he was tortured and had health problems.
According to the student, those who detained him agreed to release him on the occasion of the month of Ramadan. “Several friends and acquaintances played a role in my release. But, unfortunately, our embassy did nothing for this,” Abdullayev said.
It was not possible to get comments from the Azerbaijani embassy in Ukraine.—21B06-
