Azerbaijani National Football Team Plays Draw with Malta
Baku / 11.09.09 / Turan: The Azerbaijan national football team in the second round of the League of Nations played a draw with Malta with a score of 1: 1.
In the first half at the 10th minute, the players of the national team of Malta opened
the score from the penalty spot. The captain of the national team of Azerbaijan Badavi Huseynov violated the rules in his own penalty area.
The score equaled at the 26th minute, with a spectacular blow by Tamkin Khalilzadeh from outside the penalty area of the Maltese.
Unattractive game of the Azerbaijani team led to the fact that in the second
time visitors could not create any real scoring situation at the gate of the hosts and, respectively, win a victory in the tournament.
In a parallel game in group 3 of Division D of the League of Nations, the Kosovo team won the Faroe Islands in its field with a score of 2: 0.
Let's remind that in the first round in Baku the national team of Azerbaijan played a zero draw with the Kosovo team.
After two rounds in group 3, the leader with 4 points is the national team
of Kosovo. In the second place is the Faroe Islands team, which has 3 points. The national team of Azerbaijan with two points is at the third place, and Malta with one point is at the last, fourth, place.
