Azerbaijani TV channels cancel entertainment programmes from air
Baku/07.02.23/Turan: The state television of Azerbaijan - AZTV has cancelled entertainment programs due to the devastating earthquake in Turkey.
Music and entertainment programs have been excluded from "Mədəniyyət TV" ("Culture TV"), "İdman TV" ("Sports TV") and state radio, the AZTV press release says.
Besides, the state broadcaster has sent its journalist team to the disaster area to join the staff of the local AzTV bureaus.
At present, three film crews regularly report on the rescue work from the cities of Kahramanmarash, Adana and Malatya through live feeds.
In turn, the Audiovisual Council (broadcasting regulator in Azerbaijan) called on all TV channels in the country to change their programming schedules due to numerous casualties of the earthquake in Turkey.
According to information from social networks, some restaurants in Baku have eliminated music programmes for visitors.
Note that Turkey has declared nationwide mourning until 12 February. -16D06-
