Believers Celebrate Gurban Bayram Holiday

Baku / 08/12/19 / Turan: On August 10-12, believers in Azerbaijan celebrate one of the main Muslim holidays, Gurban Bayram or Eid al Adha (the Sacrifice Feast). The holiday marks the end of the Hajj - Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca.

On the holiday it is customary to sacrifice animals (most often a ram) and distribute the meat to the poor (at seven addresses).

Holidays in Azerbaijan are declared non-working. In all mosques of the country holiday prayers are held.

The authorities have allocated special places in the capital, where, in compliance with the necessary standards, everyone can slaughter an animal or they can do it at his request. --- 02B-
