Birth Rates Reduced, Mortality Increased in Azerbaijan
Baku / 12.10.18 / Turan: In January-August 2018, the Ministry of Justice registered 90,523 newborns. On average, 373 children were born per day, the State Statistics Committee reports.
For every 1,000 people, there are 13.8 newborns. 53.1% of the births are boys, and 46% are girls. There is a decrease in childbirth. During the same period last year, 95,395 children were born in the country (an average of 393 per day).
Over 8 months of 2018, 39,496 deaths were recorded in Azerbaijan. For every 1,000 people there are 6 deaths. At the same time, the number of deaths has increased compared to the same period last year, when 39,004 deaths were recorded.
Marriage rates have decreased, and the number of divorces has increased. For 8 months of this year, 40,235 marriages and 9,877 divorces were registered. Last year, 40,256 marriages and 9,787 divorces were registered during this period. -16D05--

As part of the struggle against illegal migration in Baku city, operative actions were carried out at different addresses. The Interior Ministry reports that employees of the Department for Combating Illegal Migration identified and detained 34 foreigners without documents giving the right to reside and stay on the territory of Azerbaijan.

During the operation of the Main Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 5 members of an organized group engaged in drug trafficking were detained. All of them have previous convictions: Bahlul Ismayilov, Royal Aliyev, Khayal Aliyev, Samir Aghayev, and Ali Mammadli.
