Border guards seized half tonne of drugs from illegal circulation in June
Azerbaijani border guards seized goods, including medicines and tobacco products worth AZN 5,123,255 within the framework of anti-smuggling measures in June. This is stated in the report of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan on the results of activity in June, circulated on 3 July.
As many as 30 people were detained for violation of the state border, including 12 citizens of Iran, 7 citizens of Azerbaijan, 6 citizens of Pakistan, 2 citizens of Afghanistan, 2 citizens of Turkey and 1 citizen of Nepal.
As part of measures to combat illegal migration, 10 people were detained for attempting to cross the state border with forged stamps, forged passports and other people's documents.
A total of 851 persons were detained for violating the rules of the border regime and appropriate measures were taken against them in accordance with the law. In addition, 295 wanted persons, 452 persons banned from leaving the country and 9 persons banned from entering the country were detained and handed over to the appropriate authorities.
During the reviewed period 455 kg 466 g of narcotic drugs and 1,642 tablets of potent drugs were detected and seized from circulation.
