Border Service on Detention of another Group of Drug Couriers
Baku / 17.12.18 / Turan: The Border Guard Service of Azerbaijan reports about the detention of several individuals for attempting to bring various types of drugs into the country over the past week.
On December 12, at the Astara checkpoint, 320 grams of heroin were seized from the Iranian citizen Barghikani Mohammedbakhir. It was found that the drugs were intended for the residents of Baku Kazym Safarov and Elyaz Nasirov. During the operation, these men were also detained.
On December 13, residents of the Barda district Talat Jafarov and Namik Guliyev were detained on the Iranian-Azerbaijani border. The border guards seized more than 2 kg of marijuana from them.
On the same day, the border guards, together with the State Security Service, carried out an operation in the Yardimli region, during which more than 1 kg of heroin was found in a car of residents of the Shamkir region. During the operation, a resident of the specified area Vusal Alizadeh, a resident of Mingechevir Elchin Sultanov and a resident of Sumgayit Huseyn Huseynov were detained.
