Businessmen threaten to reveal a dirty compromising material against the head of the Baku Metro, Tagi Ahmedov
On Monday, a group of entrepreneurs engaged in trade in kiosks in the subway station "Koroglu", held a press conference in the Media Center of the Institute for Reporters Freedom and Safety, and stated about violation of their rights by the leadership of "subway ".
According to them, this summer, the chief of Baku Metro, Tagi Akhmedov, suspended trading in connection with the reconstruction of the station. However, after the repair Akhmedov sold the kiosks to others, depriving about 40 entrepreneurs of trade objects.
The price of one kiosk ranges from 12,000 to 20,000 manat. The kiosks located at the output of escalators are sold for 70,000 – 80,000 manat.
Stores are registered on the names of employees of the underground, but in reality, they are transferred to other persons. Shopping facilities are sold by persons named Zaur, Novruz and Rauf Ahmadov, son of Taghi Ahmadov.
One of the businessmen, Talib Akhmedov, said the persons selling kiosks say they are acting on behalf of the First Lady of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva. Former owners of kiosks can not pay the amount of money demanded from them.
They say that for many years they were paid monthly rent amounting from 300 to 1,200 manat. However, businessmen are skeptical that the leadership of underground paid duty to the state.
Entrepreneurs called on the law enforcement agencies to investigate these questions. After losing their jobs, businessmen are without funds, they can not send their children to kindergartens and schools.
The leadership of the underground put up police near the kiosks so that the previous owners could not return.
Businessmen said that have audio and video materials, compromising the leadership of the subway. If their demands are not met, it shall deliver publicly to available materials. Moreover, entrepreneurs are going to hold a protest in the form of hunger and to apply to the courts, after passing all the stages up to the European Court of Human Rights.-05C-
