Case of Attack on Journalist in Spotlight of US Embassy
The correspondent of Radio Voice of America Tapdig Farhadoglu affected by physical pressure while covering the rally of BSU students, on Thursday was invited to the US Embassy.
Recall that the incident took place on February 20, when the Chief of Security BSU Mahir Hojjatov inflicted several blows and kicks on the back and the head of the journalist, who was filming the action. Farhadoglu was injured and underwent surgery.
As a result, he is partially disabled.
Today the journalist was received by the Head of Public Relations of the Embassy, Stephen Gauss and the Embassy Adviser on Political Affairs, Daniel Slusher.
During the meeting with the lawyer Samira Agayeva, the US diplomats were interested in the progress of the trial on the complaint of the journalist and his state of health.
The diplomat noted that this case is the focus of the Embassy.
Earlier Farhadoglu appealed to President Ilham Aliyev, the Attorney General and the Working Group on Human Rights to promote the objective investigation into the attack on him, but no results followed. -06D-
