Cassation complaint of spouses Yunus will be considered on December 27
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court has once again postponed consideration of the cassation appeal of the spouses Leyla and Arif Yunus, told their lawyer Afgan Mammadov.
According to him, the revocation of a decision was filed on Baku Court of Appeal on 9 December, 2015 which replaced them real terms in prison on a suspended sentence. Protecting insists on full justification of Yunus spouses.
The cassation complaint was filed in February 2016, and since then it has repeatedly postponed its consideration. Today once again the meeting was postponed to December 27, without explanation.
Director of the Institute for Peace and Democracy (IPD) Leyla Yunus and her husband, Arif Yunus conflictologists, were arrested in the summer of 2014. On August 13 the Baku Serious Crimes Court sentenced Yunus to 8.5 years in prison, and Yunus to 7-year prison term.
In December, 2015 the Court of Appeal replaced real terms on a conditional sentence. On April 19 the couple were able to leave Azerbaijan for treatment. This became possible after long international pressure on official Baku.-05B06-
