Citizen of Azerbaijan Seized 92 Thousand Euros at Domodedovo
On September 3 the Domodedovo customs officers checking the passenger flight Baku -Moscow revealed at a citizen of Azerbaijan undeclared currency at the rate of 92,435 euros. The passenger followed the "green" corridor, thereby stating that he had no goods subject to declaration, Russian media reported, without specifying the name of the citizen, as well as the fate of the seized funds.
A criminal case was filed under Article 200 of the Criminal Code (smuggling of cash). The article provides for criminal liability for illegal cross-border movement of cash in large amounts.
According to the legislation of the Russian Federation, without a written declaration one-time import or export of cash totaling the equivalent of 10,000 U.S. dollars is permitted. -03D-
