"Civil Solidarity" condemns the verdict on Yadigar Sadigov
The party "Civil Solidarity" condemned the verdict by the Lankaran Court against Yadigar Sadigov, the adviser to the head of the "Musavat" party. Sadigov has been sentenced to six years in prison. The statement authors said the verdict was "biased and is a result of the lack of an independent judiciary in Azerbaijan."
The statement noted that the court did not take into account, and did not satisfy, the defense motion by Yadigar Sadigov. In addition, the Court did not present convincing arguments of Sadigov’s guilt. For this reason, the sentence can be called politically motivated.
The authors of the statement believe that such kinds of arrests cause harm to Azerbaijan's image, calling on official Baku to give a fair trial to Yadigar Sadigov. -05D04-
