Cold weather and snow expected at end of the week
Baku/04.01.24/Turan: According to the National Hydrometeorological Service of the Ministry of Ecology, cloudy weather with no precipitation is expected in Baku and Absheron on 5 January. Air temperature will be +5+8 at night and +9+14 during the day.
On 4-5 January, strong wind up to 20 m/s will remain.
In the regions of the country on 5 January, precipitation in the form of rain will begin, and on 6 January, rain will turn into snow in most parts of the country. In some places precipitation will be intense: in Nakhchivan, Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur, Guba-Gusar and Lankaran-Astara zones.
Because of the expected deterioration of weather conditions, the Ministry of Emergency Situations appealed to the population to observe precautionary measures. -0-

Complaints about a foul gas-like odor persist in the Əhmədli, Günəşli, NZS settlements, and some other areas of Baku. Residents report that the issue has been ongoing for several days.

On January 23, the weather in Baku will be cloudy. Rain is expected in some areas in the evening and morning; southeast and gusty wind. One more child, who was injured in a road accident in Imishli region on 18 January, died in Baku hospital. Despite the efforts of doctors, the life of the minor born in 2015 could not be saved.

Opposition members detained for critical social media posts were released on the same day, with no reports of mistreatment by authorities, Musavat Party deputy chairman Mustafa Hajibeyli told Turan news agency.
