Court of Appeal to Consider Case of Taleh Bagirzadeh and His Supporters
Baku / 25.05.17 / Turan: On June 6, the Baku Court of Appeal will consider the complaint of the leader of the movement Muslim Unity Taleh Bagirzadeh and 16 of his supporters.
Fuad Gahramanli, Deputy Chairman of the Popular Front Party, was also convicted along with them.
The appeal will be considered under the chairmanship of Amir Bayramov, Turan was told in the court.
Recall that all the above-named persons were arrested in November 2015 in Nardaran and sentenced to long prison terms on charges of preparing forcible change of the state system, illegal storage of weapons, and other serious crimes.
In the court of first instance, these allegations were not confirmed. The defendants claimed that they gave confessions under torture.
International organizations condemned the unfair trial. Fuad Gahramanli is recognized as a political prisoner, who is not involved in the events in Nardaran. -0-
