Days of America in the Education Center
On Saturday a concert of Azerbaijani amateur groups and art exhibitions of young talents was held in the American Educational Center in the University of Foreign Languages in Baku as part of "Days of America."
The US Ambassador Robert Cekuta outlined the main purpose of the festival demonstrating the diversity of cultures, which are rich in both countries. Azerbaijan and the US are inherent tolerance and perception of different cultures, he said.
The America Days opened on Friday at the State Philharmonic Society named after Muslum Magomayev , and the works of George Gershwin and Leonard Bernstein were performed by the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra.
Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Sevda Mamedaliyeva noted that holding "Days of America" in Azerbaijan, undoubtedly, will contribute to the cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States.
The festival will last until May 21, and the organizers have provided the concerts of famous singers and groups, modern dance groups, film screenings, entertainment programs for children, demonstration of American cuisine, exhibitions, etc.
More than 60 singers, dancers and musicians of the joint group of the Azerbaijan State Musical Theatre jointly with the Broadway Bound will make a great concert on May 14-15.
The organizers of the festival are the US Embassy, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan, and other partners. The festival will be held also in Ganja, Mingachevir, Lankaran, Guba, Sumgayit, and Shamkir.
