Thirty Thousand Migrant Workers in Azerbaijan
From January to May, the number of legal migrant workers in Azerbaijan rose by 7.6% - up to 29,994 people.
As stated in the press release of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, most of the migrant workers are men (89.1%), having individual account in the state social insurance system.
Registered in the Ministry are citizens of 120 countries, where the leaders are Turkey, Georgia and Russia. Further, in accordance with the number, they are followed by India, Iran, China, Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, Ukraine and the Philippines.
The process of attracting labor migrants to the contributions for compulsory social insurance started from January 1, 2006. --17D-
