Doctors called on I. Rahimov to stop the hunger strike
Baku/30.08.19/Turan: On Friday, representatives of the Red Cross, together with the doctors of the jail-1 doctors, visited the editor of the realliq.info website, Ikram Rahimov, who is there.
Doctors examined Rahimov conducting a long hunger strike and noted a serious deterioration in his condition. Doctors urged him to abandon the hunger strike, but Rahimov refused. This was reported to Turan by relatives of Rahimov.
*Rahimov was detained on October 26, 2018, charged with extortion by threats and arrested.
On June 12, the court sentenced him to 5.5 years in prison. On August 7, a preliminary hearing was held in the Baku Court of Appeal in the case of Rahimov. The defense requested a second judicial investigation, new interrogations of witnesses and victims due to falsification of their testimonies in the trial court.
Since then, court hearings have been adjourned several times without having made a decision. -06B-
